Turbine, Inc. is a premier creator and operator of massive, persistent online worlds that foster powerful social gaming communities.

The Application Purpose
Following application serves different features to the registered gamers of the client:

• The “DDO Store” is an in-game e-commerce site to sell the items and points used in the game. Players can purchase different offers and points from this site. In addition, users can redeem their Points Card to increase the point balance.

ReliSource was responsible for the testing of the application. Analyzing the testing scope we went for the hybrid type of testing that included both manual and automation testing.

Challenges
Duration of the testing phase was a big challenge to us. A lot of combinations needed to be gone through to attain full coverage. Zero documentation was another challenge in front of the testing team. In addition, major challenge to develop or use a testing tool was that codebase was not accessible to the testing team as the development team was a 3rd party vendor.

ReliSource provided an extensive automated and manual testing to address the need. Our automation engineers designed and developed a customized automation tool to cover the most overcoming the big challenges. The tool was easily customizable and the reporting was extensive.

Benefits
A lot of testing was completed on time, resulting in increased efficiency and fewer production defects. Development of the automation tool led to reduction in manual errors and increased the percentage of defects identification. The test script was designed with high maintainability. Therefore, implementation of change request/enhancements in the application can easily be addressed by the tool.
