Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented JIRA Administrator & Automation Expert who can manage, optimize, and automate our Atlassian ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a strong command over JIRA project configurations, workflow design, and automation rules, and will work closely with engineering, QA, and business teams to streamline project management processes.

Educational Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science & Engineering or any relevant discipline from a reputed university.

Experience Requirements

  • Two (02) to four (04) years of hands-on experience with JIRA administration and/or automation.

Overview of the Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain JIRA Software (Cloud/Data Center) instances, including user and group management, permission schemes, and licensing.
  • Design, configure, and manage JIRA projects — including Scrum and Kanban boards, workflows, custom fields, issue types, screens, and notification schemes.
  • Build and maintain JIRA Automation rules (using native JIRA Automation) to reduce manual effort, trigger smart notifications, auto-assign issues, and sync data across projects.
  • Develop and manage integrations between JIRA and third-party tools (e.g., Confluence, Slack, GitHub, Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Perform regular audits of JIRA configurations and automation logs to ensure accuracy, performance, and governance compliance.
  • Support teams in defining and refining agile workflows tailored to their development and project delivery methodologies.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, gadgets, and advanced filters (JQL) to provide stakeholders with real-time visibility into project health and KPIs.
  • Onboard new users and teams into JIRA — providing training, documentation, and ongoing support.
  • Manage and resolve JIRA-related support tickets and escalations from internal teams.
  • Regularly communicate with US clients and internal stakeholders regarding process improvements and tooling updates.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a JIRA Administrator managing mid-to-large-scale instances (500+ users preferred).
  • Strong expertise in JIRA Automation — building complex multi-step rules, branching logic, and cross-project automations without third-party apps.
  • Advanced proficiency in JQL (JIRA Query Language) for building filters, dashboards, and reports.
  • Hands-on experience with Atlassian Cloud and/or Data Center deployment models.
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum and Kanban methodologies and how they map to JIRA configurations.
  • Experience configuring JIRA Service Management (JSM) for IT/business service desks is a plus.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs for JIRA — ability to perform bulk operations, integrations, and scripting via API calls.
  • Knowledge of Confluence administration and integration with JIRA.
  • Basics of version control systems (Git preferred) and integration with JIRA for tracking development activity.
  • Excellent communication skills in English — both written and verbal.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and strong analytical mindset.
  • Must be willing to work flexible office hours to coordinate with US clients.
  • Proactive attitude toward ownership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Have Requirements

  • Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) certification — JIRA Administration or JIRA Automation.
  • Experience with ScriptRunner for JIRA (Groovy scripting).
  • Familiarity with Tempo Timesheets, Structure, or other JIRA marketplace apps.
  • Exposure to DevOps toolchains and CI/CD pipeline integration with Atlassian products.
  • Experience with project management in healthcare, fintech, or logistics domains.

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive salary and excellent career growth opportunity in a stable and focused organization.
  • Opportunity to work with a highly skilled, collaborative team and learn from experienced mentors.
  • Exposure to global clients and modern Atlassian ecosystem technologies.
  • A friendly, supportive work environment that encourages learning and innovation.
